Biography:

Philip Boyce is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Sydney and Head of the Perinatal Psychiatry Clinical Research Unit at Westmead Hospital. He has a longstanding research and clinical interest into perinatal mental illness. His initial work focused on the identification of, and risk factors for postnatal depression. His more recent work focuses on bipolar disorder over the perinatal period. He was a member of the working groups that developed the RANZCP‰Ûªs Mood Disorders anxiety disorders clinical practice guidelines He was an expert advisor the recently published Australian Perinatal Clinical Practice Guidelines. He was President the RANZCP 2003-2005 and was President of the International Marce society (a society focused on perinatal mental health) from 2000-2002. He is an associate editor of the ANZJP.
