Biography:

Karina joined the DEPRESSD team as a research assistant in July 2026. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science Honours in Psychology at the University of Alberta in 2025.  Karina gained her research experience working for Heroes in Mind, Advocacy, and Research Consortium, where she collaborated on several projects, including one that evaluated the efficacy of a workplace reintegration program for public safety personnel who have had a work-related mental health intervention. She is currently completing her Master of Science in Public Health Sciences with a research specialization in epidemiology and biostatistics at the University of Waterloo. Her research interests include psychometrics, child psychiatric epidemiology, and determinants of child mental health.
