Biography:

Professor in General Practice at the Academic Medical Center in Amsterdam. Prof. van Weert is presently involved in national initiatives to improve prevention and treatment of cancer, where he aims to provide Primary Care with better tools to set accurate and early diagnosis. A second line of research concerns cardio-vascular diseases with an emphasis on cardia rhythm abnormalities, especially atrial fibrillation.
