Biography:
Dr. Matsuoka's research centres on how diet and exercise can impact mental health problems and healthy life expectancy among people with lifestyle-related diseases. He currently focuses nutritional intervention for the management of depression and anxiety, home-based high intensity intermittent training for improving cardiorespiratory fitness and mental health. He has won multiple awards for his work in these areas. He is also a founding member and Vice President of International Society for Nutritional Psychiatry Research. After graduating from the Jikei University School of Medicine in 1993, he trained as a general practitioner before specialising in psychiatry. He has a PhD in psychiatry and clinical neuroscience from Hiroshima University.
